Rental terms and conditions

These terms apply to every rental from Laxmanjhula Bike Rentals, Laxmanjhula Road, Rishikesh. By taking a bike from us, you agree to them.

Eligibility and documents

A valid driving licence covering the vehicle category rented, plus Aadhaar or passport (Indian nationals) or passport, visa copy and International Driving Permit (foreign nationals, for anything over 50cc). We photograph documents rather than retain originals wherever the booking allows it.

Deposit

A refundable security deposit is taken at handover: ₹3,000 for a scooty, ₹5,000 for a Royal Enfield or Pulsar. Cash or UPI, receipt given. The deposit is refunded at return provided the bike is returned in the condition it left in, undamaged beyond normal wear, and on time.

Fuel

The bike is handed over with a full tank and should be returned at roughly the same level, or topped up by the renter. No refuelling markup is applied either way.

Damage

Any existing damage is noted together with the renter before the bike leaves the shop. New damage found at return is assessed fairly, shown to the renter, and its repair cost deducted from the deposit. Damage beyond the deposit amount is the renter's responsibility.

Late return

A late fee of ₹{{LATE_FEE_HOUR}} per hour applies past the agreed return time. Renters running late are encouraged to call ahead — we will generally adjust the booking rather than apply the fee where reasonable notice is given.

Insurance position

Rental vehicles carry third-party insurance, covering damage or injury caused to third parties. This does not cover damage to the rental vehicle itself or injury to the renter or pillion. Renters are responsible for their own travel and medical insurance and should confirm it covers motorcycle riding before undertaking a longer or higher-risk trip such as Chardham.

Prohibited use

Rental bikes may not be used for racing, stunts, off-roading beyond normal unpaved approach roads, or any illegal purpose. Subletting a rental to a third party who has not been through our own document check is not permitted.

Geographic limits

Bikes may be ridden throughout Uttarakhand, including the Chardham routes, provided the correct bike category has been rented for that purpose — see our Chardham rental page. Riding outside Uttarakhand requires prior agreement with us.

Breakdowns

In the event of a mechanical breakdown not caused by renter misuse, contact us immediately using the number on the key tag. We will work with the renter on a repair, replacement, or fair adjustment to the rental depending on the circumstances.

Cancellation

Renters should notify us as early as possible if plans change. Advance bookings held with no notice of cancellation may forfeit part of the deposit — ask us for specifics relevant to your booking.
