Swarg Ashram is the stretch of ghats and narrow lanes just past Ram Jhula — home to the old Beatles Ashram (Chaurasi Kutia), a run of smaller temples, and some of the quietest riverside walking in Rishikesh once you're past the crowds near the bridge. It's not a place you ride through so much as ride to and then park.
Getting here from our shop
It's the same 12-minute road route as Ram Jhula, since Swarg Ashram sits just beyond it on the same side of the river — no separate directions needed once you're on the main road heading south from Laxman Jhula.
The Beatles Ashram specifically
Chaurasi Kutia has no vehicle parking inside the compound. Ride to the approach road, park along the roadside near the entrance — it's informal but well used and generally safe in daylight hours — and walk in. There's a small entry ticket checked at the gate, and the ashram grounds themselves are a walking site: overgrown meditation cabins, old murals, genuinely worth the visit, but expect to be on foot for an hour or more once you're inside.
Where a bike stops being useful
The ghat lanes right along the river are narrow, often stepped, and busy enough with pedestrians that riding through them isn't really an option even where it's technically not banned. Treat the main road as where your bike's job ends — park there, and do the ghats, the temples and the ashram itself on foot.
Ghat access
The main ghats are a short walk down from the road at a few points along this stretch. They're at their busiest around sunset, when the evening prayers draw a crowd similar in scale to the Parmarth aarti further up at Ram Jhula, just quieter and more local in character.
