Honda Activa 125 on rent in Rishikesh
The default choice for anyone who just needs to get around town without thinking about it. No clutch, no gears, the lightest thing in our fleet, and the cheapest — this is the bike we hand to most first-time riders and most short-stay travellers who aren't planning anything beyond Rishikesh itself.
Spec
Best for — and not great for
Best for: town errands, the daily ashram commute, no-gear-experience riders. At 48-52 kmpl it's also the cheapest to run of anything we have, which adds up if you're riding it daily for a week or more.
Not great for: Neelkanth or Kunjapuri two-up on the climbs, anything past Rishikesh town. Small wheels and a short wheelbase mean it gets unsettled on loose gravel and steep switchbacks in a way a geared motorcycle doesn't — for those days, look at the Hunter 350 instead.
Who rides this bike
Yoga and TTC students commuting between Tapovan and the ghats, first-time riders who've never handled a motorcycle before, and short-stay travellers who just need something for a couple of days of town sightseeing. It's also the bike we hand to most solo travellers on their very first day in Rishikesh, before they've decided whether they want to move up to a geared bike.
What we check before you ride
Every Activa gets its brakes, tyres and CVT belt checked before handover, plus a check on the electric start battery, since that's the part that most commonly lets a scooty down if it's been sitting unused for a while.
Rides this bike is good for
Staying more than a couple of weeks? See monthly bike rental in Rishikesh — the Activa is our most-booked monthly bike by a wide margin. For an easy full-day ride on this bike, see Rishikesh to Haridwar by bike — flat, short, and well within an Activa's comfort zone.
One more thing worth knowing
Because it's automatic, the Activa is genuinely the fastest bike in our fleet to get comfortable on — most riders are relaxed within the first few minutes of leaving the shop, which is exactly why it's the one we recommend for a first ride in unfamiliar Indian traffic. The tradeoff is that a CVT transmission doesn't give you the engine braking a geared bike does, which matters more the moment your plans include anything beyond flat town riding — see the "not great for" note above before you assume it'll handle a hill route just because it handled the market lanes fine.
