Scooty or Royal Enfield — which bike for Rishikesh?
This is the single most common question at our counter, and the honest answer is "it depends on where you're going and who's riding," not "the Enfield is always better." Here's how to actually decide.
By trip type
Town errands, ashram commute, café-hopping: scooty. See our Activa 125 — cheaper to run, easier to park, no gears to think about.
A day out to Neelkanth or Kunjapuri: either works solo; a Hunter 350 if you're riding two-up, since the climbs ask more of a loaded scooty than most riders expect.

By rider experience
If you've never ridden a manual motorcycle, don't make your first attempt a Rishikesh hill road. Start on a scooty, and if you find you want more after a day or two, come back and swap up — we can usually arrange it.
If you already ride a geared bike at home, a Royal Enfield will feel familiar within the first few kilometres, and the extra weight actually helps stability on hill corners once you're used to it.
By budget

By pillion and luggage
A scooty's flat floorboard is genuinely useful for a bag between your feet, and the lower seat is easier for a nervous passenger to mount. A Royal Enfield carries a loaded saddle stay or bungee-strapped luggage better over distance, and the pillion seat holds up better on longer rides.

The recommendation
If your whole trip stays within Rishikesh, Tapovan, Ram Jhula and the easy nearby rides, a scooty is genuinely the better tool, not just the cheaper one. The moment your plans include Chopta, Chardham, or any multi-day mountain touring, move to a Royal Enfield — Hunter or Classic for shorter hill trips, Himalayan for the serious mountain routes.
